Center for Climate Resilience and Food Security

Hodmas University College, a leading institution in Somalia, is deeply committed to addressing the urgent challenges posed by climate change, sustainable livelihoods, and food security. In recognition of the critical need for research, knowledge exchange, and innovative solutions in these areas, we have established the Center for Climate Resilience and Food Security. This center serves as a catalyst for change, driving efforts to build climate resilience, promote sustainable livelihoods, and ensure food security for all in Somalia.

Somalia is particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, with rising temperatures, erratic rainfall patterns, and increased frequency of extreme weather events. These challenges directly affect agriculture, livelihoods, and food production systems, exacerbating food insecurity and threatening the well-being of communities across the country. The need for comprehensive research, evidence-based strategies, and effective interventions is paramount to address these pressing issues.

At the Center for Climate Resilience and Food Security (CCRFS), we are dedicated to generating knowledge, fostering innovation, and facilitating collaborations to achieve tangible and sustainable impacts. Our interdisciplinary approach brings together experts from various fields, including agriculture, environmental science, social sciences, and policy development. Through partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, research institutions, and local communities, we aim to leverage collective expertise and resources to address the complex challenges of climate change and food security.
