Overview

Agriculture was the key development in the rise of sedentary human civilization, whereby farming of domesticated species created food surpluses that enabled people to live in cities. Agriculture is also the art and science of cultivating the soil, growing crops and raising livestock. It includes the preparation of plant and animal products for people to use and their distribution to markets. Agriculture provides most of the world’s food and fabrics. Cotton, wool, and leather are all agricultural products.

Programme

The Bachelor of Food Science and Technology is your chance to improve the health and well-being of future generations. Students who complete the course are critical thinkers. 

They are in high demand in the food industry because of their scientific understanding of the technical components of food, beginning with harvesting and ending with consumption.

The course focuses first on developing a better understanding of the fate of agricultural raw materials, and then on food technology such as preservation, processing, packaging, and distribution to ensure that food is safe, nutritious, and healthy.

We’ll tell you about the science of the food we eat. You will learn how to make food that is sustainable, nutritious, and safe. You may work with multinational food corporations or start your own business. This degree in applied science can lead to positions in research, operations, and management.

Aquaculture and Fisheries degrees teach students how to commercially raise aquatic plants and animals. Students pursuing an aquaculture degree can specialize in pharmaceutical product development, scientific research, food safety, or sustainable cultivation and preservation of marine life. Graduates work for the government or the private sector, in fisheries or research laboratories.

This degree will equip you with the scientific understanding and managerial skills needed for a successful career in the burgeoning sports fisheries or aquaculture Industries. 

Graduates of fisheries and aquaculture can find work in a variety of settings, including state and federal government organizations, academic institutions, and fish farms.

Aquaculture managers, shellfish culturists, hatchery technicians, biological science technicians, and fish research assistants are all sought after by government agencies and industry organizations.
